Engineering Open House

Saturday February 24th, 2007

UAF engineering students and professors will give demonstrations; view the Ice Arch; watch a simulated earthquake; operate a remote controlled robot; pan for gold; tour U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permafrost Tunnel in Fox (2 p.m.) and much more.

Yukon Quest Movies

The Alaska Public Lands Information Center is showing the Quest movie “Six On/Six Off” daily Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Another Quest movie will be shown Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and introduced by filmmaker Becky Bristow.

Yukon Quest Events

2007 Speech & Poster Contest - "Conservation's Power"

Fairbanks Soil & Water Conservation District is proud to sponsor its 2007 Speech and Poster Contest. This year's theme is "Conservation's Power." Local winners will receive cash prizes and advance to compete at the state competition in March. All students are invited to become involved in this contest. A free storytime for 3-5 year olds, held in the Berry Room Storytelling Area. Weekly registration is required.

Preschool Storytime is also offered on Wednesdays at 1:30 PM.
